Contents Page Conventions

Page Numbers 
Page numbers on a contents page are usually non chronological and usually bigger than the title of the pages. Page numbers are in non chronoligcal order as not every story is on the contents page.
Images
Usually one main image along with smaller images referring to other stories. 
House Style
Referring back to colour and font throughout the whole magazine.
Sections
Different stories may be under different topics such as interviews and music.
Contents Heading
Title at the top of the page following the same house style. 
Subscription pug/starbursts
Encourages readers to buy the magazine every month/week.
Columns
Usually 2-3 so it is easy to follow and organised
Date/Issue Number
Informs you what issue you are reading to make sure your not buying the same one.
Structured Layout
Looks organised and easy to follow, not too many things going on so you don't know what to look at. 
Font Emphasis
Engages reader to read that particular phrase by using italic, bold, different font tyle, size, colour or using a banner.
